Are you a publisher with newsletters or podcasts? Then you absolutely must have Wednesday June 12th in your diary.

We’re assembling some of the industry’s leading publishers in London to share the strategies and learnings behind their successful podcasts, from top newsbrands launching paid podcasts to indie newsletters nailing their commercial strategies.

We still have some speakers and sessions to confirm ahead of the big day, but below is just a taster of some of the talks and workshops delegates can look forward to.

For the full agenda, tickets and more to both Summits, see publisherpodcasts.com.

Publisher Podcast Summit

Workshop: How to make your small podcast a sustainable part of your revenue mix

Whisper it: you don’t need millions of downloads in order to make money from a podcast. Podcasting builds deeply intimate connections with engaged communities, and publishers who operate in passionate niches actually already know how to make money from these superfans; you just have to apply this thinking to podcasts. Join Chris and Jake from podcast production agency Message Heard to workshop how your small podcast can be a sustainable part of your commercial mix.

Keynote: Fernando Augusto Pacheco, Senior Correspondent – Monocle Radio

Monocle’s Fernando Augusto Pacheco will kick off the Publisher Podcast Summit highlighting how podcasts are a great tool for publishers, drawing on his experience at Monocle Radio and their own podcast The Stack.

Session: Creating and growing a premium podcast strategy

It’s still early days for paid podcasts, but Immediate Media has valuable learnings already from 18 months testing and learning. Using case studies from their podcast portfolio, Head of Podcasts Ben Youatt will give an overview of the strategic process of podcast paywalls, the test and learn model, the creation of premium content and subscription bundles, and how to balance premium offers alongside free content.

Publisher Newsletter Summit

Workshop: How to monetise newsletters and build into a wider reader revenue model

What should you prioritise when it comes to newsletter revenue and fitting them in with a subscriber model? Sarah Ebner, Executive Editor and Head of Newsletters at the Financial Times and Lamberto Lambertini, Senior Insights Consultant at FT Strategies share the strategies, tactics and success stories from their extensive work in growing and monetising newsletters.

Keynote: Sian Meades-Williams – How does that make you feel?

The focus of both Summits is growth and revenue, but Sian will start the Publisher Newsletter Summit on a different note: focusing on the emotional element of newsletters. How do you want your readers to feel when your email lands, and why does prioritising this improve editorial, open rates and overall success?

Session: Using newsletter courses to deliver bite-sized learning to time-poor users

A growing number of publishers are looking to newsletters to deliver courses or limited series. Ruth Hardy-Mullings, Head of Content at Community Care Group will explore how the publication effectively used newsletter courses to engage its audience, including what they learned refining their offering over three years, and the benefits and drawbacks of different formats.

Advance rates for the Publisher Podcast and Newsletter Summits are available until May 17th. Tickets get you access to both Summits, which are running alongside each other as streams. See the website for full agenda, tickets and more.
